Kyle Trask led Florida football to another big SEC win in Week 4 so let’s completely overreact to the Gators’ dominant victory over Tennessee.

Some believed the rivalry game between Florida and Tennessee would be much closer, but the Volunteers continued to sink like a stone while the Gators continued to trend in the right direction.

Florida improved to 4-0 on the season with two wins in SEC action with a 34-3 blowout of the Volunteers while Tennessee is now just 1-3 and looking for some sort of answer. These programs are in completely different places and Gator fans feel good about their chances in the East.

On that note, it’s time for some overreactions.

3. Defense is impenetrable

This one is most definitely an overreaction simply because Tennessee doesn’t have much of an offense. The Volunteers have been lackluster, at best, this season, so the fact that the Gators dominated for four quarters wasn’t that big of a surprise nor does it mean Florida’s defense is impenetrable.

Is Florida’s defense elite? It’s close to that point, but it needs to prove that it can stop teams like Georgia, LSU or Alabama before we can say something like this and have it not be an overreaction.

The Gators did allow just 151 yards through the air while picking off three passes and allowing just 14-of-28 completions. They also held the talented Ty Chandler to just 34 yards rushing on 10 carries and the entire Tennessee offense had just 88 yards on 27 touches.

Florida’s defense is good, but Tennessee is currently a disaster.
