1. Michigan flourishes when it utilizes its elite receivers

A week ago, fans were moaning and groaning all game long because the receivers weren’t getting a chance to show what they could do. Jim Harbaugh and Josh Gattis didn’t open the offense up until the third and fourth quarters when the game was already seemingly out of reach and the Wolverines were able to move the ball.

When you feed these talented receivers, good things happen.

Look what happened against Rutgers on Saturday. Sure, it was only Rutgers, but Donovan Peoples-Jones, Nico Collins, Tarik Black and Ronnie Bell were solid all game long, made tough catches and showed that they can make life miserable for defenses.

Peoples-Jones was back and healthy, catching four passes for 62 yards, Collins had two receptions for 59 yards and a 48-yard score, Black had two catches for 30 yards and Bell led all receivers with six receptions for 83 yards.

This offense can put some points on the board against some good teams if it realizes what kind of talent it has in the receiving corps.
