2. Stanford isn’t done yet

Stanford started off the season 1-3 in a fashion that had many people writing off the struggling Cardinal. Getting trounced by USC and UCF on the road, the Cardinal did not look very impressive in either matchup and had many people worried about David Shaw’s job. One thing that we do know about Shaw is that he is one of the most steady guys in all of college football. He showed that on Saturday with a bounce-back win on the road in a game where his team played disciplined with no turnovers and very few penalties.

Although winning a game against Oregon State does not make you a world-beater, it does include some positives you can take away after a rough start to the year. Getting the first Pac-12 win is always big for any of these teams, and Stanford showed that they could give any team a run for their money the rest of the season.

With Washington, Cal and a non-conference game against Notre Dame on the schedule, the Cardinal football team has a lot of chances to prove themselves. We will see if starting quarterback KJ Costello gets healthy down the stretch to give them a better chance as well.
