1. Stanford is Stanford

A David Shaw Stanford team somehow looks almost the same year in and year out. They may not be as good as they have been in the past, but they sure are one of the most disciplined teams in the country and continue to fight for all four quarters.

Stanford only had 350 total yards of offense the entire game, being out-gained by almost 150 by the Beavers. Yet, this was enough to win on the road for the Cardinal. This seems to be a common theme in Palo Alto for a Stanford football team that just finds ways to win in any situation. Even in a down year, there are things that you look at from this team that you can see are just working.

They are going to be underdogs in almost every single game for the rest of the year, don’t be surprised if they find a way to win a couple of these games and get bowl eligible. In down years, Shaw still finds a way to get this team ready in Pac-12 play and shows he is still one of the least flashy, but most effective coaches in the conference.
