1. Adrian Martinez needs to get it together

Assuming Adrian Martinez doesn’t miss extended time with an injury suffered against Northwestern, the sophomore quarterback needs to figure things out in a hurry.

If the Cornhuskers can’t get more out of Martinez moving forward, we might be talking about a potential replacement or maybe even the most disappointing season of any team in the Big Ten. If he’s hurt, though, he might need to wait it out as to not lose any more confidence — we have seen that in the past couple of years with Brian Lewerke and Shea Patterson.

The pressure on the second-year was immense before the season and some would argue that wasn’t quite fair for the kid who hadn’t proven much, but he still has to live up to his own expectations.

Nebraska is only going to go as far as Martinez takes them and it was clear on Saturday afternoon that the Cornhusker quarterback just didn’t have it. He needs to figure it out moving forward.
