2. LSU’s defense is slightly overrated

The Tigers like to call themselves “DBU,” but their defense has been susceptible to attack this season. Both Texas and Vanderbilt have had success with balanced offensive game plans, rushing for over 100 yards each with Sam Ehlinger having his way with the LSU secondary.

Florida’s offense has had a mild resurgence with Kyle Trask, who has been efficient through the air in each game, and has mostly done a good job of taking care of the ball.

This pairs with Lamical Perine, who finally had a breakout game against a great Auburn defense, gaining 130 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. He will keep it going against this LSU defense that could be missing two starting defensive linemen.

Trask, meanwhile, has to keep doing what he’s doing, and manage the fumbles this week. This defensive line isn’t at the level of the Tigers, but if he can take care of the ball and hit Florida’s playmakers on offense, including Van Jefferson, the Gators should be able to move the ball against LSU.
