2. Multi-quarterback look might actually work

For most teams, taking quarterbacks out for backups in the middle of drives is a major no-no. For Florida, however, it kind of worked.

Florida kept LSU’s defense on its toes all game long with the multi-quarterback look when the Gators got deep into Tiger territory. Emory Jones would come in for Kyle Trask and while some would just write the play off as a sure run as he’s the better running quarterback, he also has a strong arm which kept the Tigers honest.

On multiple occasions, the LSU defense was gashed for 5-10 yards on designed runs for Jones and even looked to be beat on RPOs where Jones stepped back to pass. In fact, he had a sure touchdown pass to Kyle Pitts in the first half but it was jarred loose by Kristian Fulton.

This multi-quarterback look isn’t a two-quarterback system, per se, just because Trask gets a majority of the snaps, but it adds a new wrinkle to the Gator offense that may actually work.

Jones might be the more talented overall athlete and he uses that to his advantage while Trask showcases that strong, accurate arm.
