1. Playoff, SEC title hopes have been crushed

Losing even one game in the SEC can spell the end of any hopes for a conference title which would, in turn, likely crush playoff aspirations. Well, that is if you’re in the SEC West like LSU.

Luckily for Florida, the Gators are from the East and are only trailing Missouri in the division standings which likely won’t hold up. On top of that, Florida is in control of its own destiny. If the Gators are able to win out, beat Georgia at home in two weeks and win at Missouri before the season finale, this team will be the East champs.

Winning the East sends them to the title game against the likes of Alabama or maybe even sets up a rematch with LSU and you can bet that a win against either of those teams would send the Gators to the playoff.

So for all you Florida fans who already wrote off the SEC title and a playoff berth because of one road loss against a cross-divisional foe, think again.

The Gators have just a good a chance to make the playoff as anyone in the SEC not named LSU or Alabama and they might be the team to beat in the East division after Georgia lost at home to South Carolina.
