Our Saturday Blitz podcast crew reviews a paradigm shifting Week 7 in college football and then sets their sights on handicapping the Week 8 action.

College football’s Week 7 action finally brought a massive upset that shifted the established order, giving the Saturday Blitz podcast crew plenty to discuss in the first section of the 30th edition of this podcast.

Georgia’s stunning defeat at the hands of South Carolina between the hedges was obviously one of the biggest surprises — not just of Week 7 — but of the entire season to date. The Bulldogs were heavy favorites, but made mistake after mistake en route to a shocking loss that dealt a massive blow to their chances of making it to the College Football Playoff for the second time in three seasons.

While that loss was certainly surprising, it was far from the only perplexing defeat across the country last week. What else loss gave Zach and John pause? Which team came away with the best victory of the week? How about worst loss? We take a look at all of that in our first segment this week as we wrap up a terrific week around the country, handing out some game balls to deserving players as well as honorable mentions to some others.

In the second segment, Zach and John turn their attention toward the Week 8 action on the gridiron. While this week doesn’t produce as many marquee matchups, there’s still some intriguing games on the slate. We take a look at the five biggest games of the weekend, offering our advice on how to bet those games.

There’s usually plenty of dissent between the two of us, so it was a bit surprising to see the amount of agreement we had this week. Fading our picks might be in your best interests.

In our final segment, we atone for some of last week’s abhorrent selections. While both of us had an above .500 week of picking, at least one our hosts made a big blunder in some #Pac12AfterDark gambling a week ago.

To wrap things up, as always we offer our food and beverage selections for the weekend. This time, we both got nostalgic as it pertained to those selections.

Enjoy the games, everybody.
