2. Dameon Pierce is fun to watch

Last year, Dameon Pierce was a freshman looking to make a name for himself in an already-established backfield. He was fighting for carries with guys who had been on the roster for a few years but that has set him up for a larger workload as a sophomore.

As a freshman, Pierce averaged 6.1 yards per carry and had two touchdowns with 424 yards and now as a sophomore, after a slow start, he’s approaching that same total. He’s averaging just about 6.0 yards per touch and had another impressive performance against the Gamecocks, picking up a team-high 87 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.

Pierce was a much more effective runner than Lamical Perine who needed 14 carries to reach 68 yards. Sure, Pierce had a 75-yard touchdown run but that home-run threat is needed in the Gators’ backfield.

The sophomore has nearly 250 rushing yards on the season and is only getting better with each passing week and it seems like he deserves more than just seven carries per game.
