With both teams in critical stretches of their season, Texas A&M football and Mississippi State face off at Kyle Field. Here is everything you need to know.

Mississippi State is on a two-game skid with losses to Tennessee and LSU. The loss to the Tigers a week ago isn’t one to be too ashamed of, but losing to the Volunteers is pretty bad.

On the other side, after losing to Alabama, the Aggies bounced back with a road win over Ole Miss. Is that win super impressive? Not really, but it is a win they were supposed to have and they got it — unlike the Bulldogs against Tennessee.

Here is everything you need to know about the matchup between Mississippi State and Texas A&M:

Keys to Victory

That Aggie offensive front isn’t protecting anybody and made the Ole Miss pass rush look like they were one of the top defenses in the nation. One of the keys this go-round for the Ags will be to get the offensive line protection. So many people want to blame Kellen Mond for the Aggies struggles, but that just isn’t the case. The Aggie pass rush has quite a few questions as does the secondary. Both of those units need to be ready to go for this one.

Mississippi State has just as many questions as the Ags do, though. Mississippi State’s defense isn’t what it was a year ago by any means. They are back and forth between quarterbacks, seemingly settled on Garrett Shrader, the true freshman. Can Shrader get it done for the Bulldogs on the road?

Prediction

Don’t expect this one to be obnoxiously exciting. You can tune in to CBS at 3:30 for that. This one will be about milking the clock and establishing offense and I have a little bit more faith in the Aggies to be able to do that than Mississippi State.

Final Score: Texas A&M 24 Mississippi State 13
