5. No. 24 Memphis 54, No. 15 SMU 48

Sure, sure, the Tigers were technically a 6-point favorite by the oddsmakers before Saturday’s Week 10 clash with ESPN’s College GameDay in town. SMU was also without its injured star wide receiver, Reggie Roberson, Jr. for the contest.

After a morning of fun on Beale Street, the evening game featured many explosive plays and back-and-forth action. After the Tigers took a 54-32 lead in the fourth quarter, SMU clawed back and converted for two points twice, but fell short with a failed onside kick.

Partly as a result of this game, the American Athletic Conference has four ranked teams heading into Week 11.

4. Oregon State 56, Arizona 38

Oregon State’s convincing win against Arizona makes this upset list partly because of the Beavers’ recent program history. Now at 4-4, this year’s Beavers have exceeded the win total from the past two years combined (three) and are now positioned to win more than four games in a season for the first time since 2014.

Against the Wildcats, quarterback Jake Luton completed 20-of-26 passes for 328 yards and three touchdowns. The Beavers also move to 3-2 in Pac-12 play after the road victory.
