Florida Football: 3 takeaways from Gators’ comfortable win at Missouri
1. Kyle Trask continues to impress
I’ll be the first to admit I never saw Kyle Trask having success as Florida’s starting quarterback, but he’s been impressive. He has not only led the Gators to a 9-2 record and second-place standing in the SEC East — at least — but he’s put the team in a position to win the division despite a loss to Georgia a couple of weeks ago.
And he’s done more than just act as a game-manager. In fact, he’s been outstanding.
Everyone expected Emory Jones to eventually take over, but Trask got the nod and he has over 2,000 yards and 20-plus touchdowns with one final game remaining against rival Florida State. He’s going to finish the regular season with 2,500-plus yards and close to 25 touchdowns after taking over in the second half of the third game of the season.
Trask has helped the team avoid disaster and he led the Gators on the road to take care of their last task, beating Missouri. He passed for 282 yards and two touchdowns on 23-of-35 passing with no turnovers.
All aboard the Kyle Trask hype train.
