3. Chase Claypool’s bright future

Notre Dame’s star wide receiver, Chase Claypool, is the NFL’s next star. He’s basically Gronk, but faster. So, he can probably be better compared to Mike Evans or even Calvin Johnson.  At a massive 6-foot-4, 229 pounds, Claypool has the size to dominate smaller NFL cornerbacks, much like he has been doing in his four years at Notre Dame.

Prior to the match against Navy, he had 42 receptions for 651 yards and five touchdowns. Early in the game, Claypool added to his scoring total as he caught a seven yard toss from Ian Book on Notre Dame’s opening drive. The very next drive, he scored again on a 47-yard bomb on a streak straight down the field. And, again, on their third drive of the game, Claypool caught another touchdown. He finished the game with seven receptions for 117 yards and four touchdowns.

Claypool has demonstrated his physical dominance in his final year with the Irish and will be contributing on Sundays next year. Look for Claypool to be drafted somewhere within the second or third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
