2. Shea Patterson is playing the best football of his career

Who is this quarterback? A month ago, fans were calling for Dylan McCaffrey to start, but Shea Patterson looks like the quarterback we all expected when he transferred in from Ole Miss.

Patterson had his first 300-yard game as a Wolverine against Michigan State a week ago, passing for 384 yards and four touchdowns on 23-of-34 completions and he may have had an even better game against the Hoosiers. In fact, he finished with 366 yards and five touchdowns with one interception on 20-of-32 passing.

While Patterson has been relatively accurate throughout his Michigan career, he has really upped his focus and he’s no longer uncomfortable in the pocket. He is playing with the most confidence he’s ever had.

Before the season, people would have been quick to call Patterson a bust at Michigan and even through the first month, that same notion would have echoed through Ann Arbor, but he is far from it. We are finally seeing a confident Patterson, and he’s scary-good.
