2. Jalen Hurts is human, after all

There were plenty of doubts about Jalen Hurts being human, but after a few turnovers and a poor game through the air, it’s clear that he is, in fact, one of us.

Hurts was a beast in the run game, accounting for 173 yards and two touchdowns but he couldn’t figure things out through the air. He finished the game with 145 yards and two touchdowns on 11-of-21 completions.

At one point, Hurts was the Heisman Trophy favorite, but with how well Joe Burrow at LSU is playing, that seems unlikely. He will probably get an invite to New York regardless, but Hurts missed an opportunity against a young defense to cement his spot as 1B in the race as opposed to Burrow’s 1A.

Did this game truly cost him? I’m not sure if he could have caught Burrow who put up another 300-plus yards and three touchdowns with no turnover this week, but he could have made a statement against Oklahoma State next week and potentially in the Big 12 title game against Baylor.
