1. Mark Stoops is going to be a hot commodity this offseason

Taking over a dormant program in 2013, Mark Stoops was hired to just make the Wildcats relevant again and help shake the stigma of Kentucky being a basketball school only. He’s done just that, and more.

Not only is Kentucky headed to its fourth straight bowl game, but the Wildcats are doing so after losing their starting quarterback at the beginning of the year and having all-everything running back Benny Snell Jr. head to the NFL. That’s impressive stuff, especially considering what they’ve lost on offense and even a captain on defense, but the Wildcats have found a way.

A lot of that success is due to execution but a lot is also coaching. Not many coaches can engineer a bowl season with essentially everyone with a pulse either injured or out.

Stoops is going to get a lot of calls this offseason to be the next head coach of another top program (Arkansas, Missouri?) and Kentucky may have to pay him big money to stay in town.

While this win was big for the program, it just made Stoops look like an even hotter commodity this offseason.
