Florida Football: 6 potential landing spots for Feleipe Franks
By Dante Pryor
4. Michigan State
The Spartans are far away from Florida, but Feleipe Franks is arguably more talented than any quarterback currently on Michigan State’s roster.
Redshirt senior Brian Lewerke is gone after this season, and that leaves redshirt sophomore Rocky Lombardi, redshirt freshman Theo Day and freshman Payton Thorne. There could be some change coming to East Lansing if head coach Mark Dantonio decides to step down or retire. That could change the entire staff which might not be a bad thing for someone like Franks.
One thing we know for sure about Franks is he needs some seasoning. He was a raw underdeveloped quarterback out of high school, and there are questions as to how hard he was coached during his time under former coach Jim McElwain. This is Franks’ last year of eligibility, and he needs to go somewhere that could help his draft prospects.
There are legit questions about quarterback development with the Dantonio regime. If there is a regime change in East Lansing and they bring in someone with a reputation as a quarterback developer, that’s a call you have to make if you are Franks.
