LSU football took home the 2019 SEC title in a big win over the Georgia Bulldogs. Will the College Football Playoff Committee rank LSU at No. 1?

Although the LSU Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs were playing against each other in the SEC Championship Game, they were actually playing for two different things.

The Bulldogs entered the game ranked at No. 4 in the country with an 11-1 record. Their only loss came at home to a 4-8 South Carolina team who was playing with their backup quarterback for much of the game. So a loss for Georgia was sure to eliminate them from the College Football Playoff consideration.

LSU, on the other hand, was playing for a “convincing” win over another quality opponent. Despite having wins over Texas, Florida, Auburn and Alabama, all of whom were ranked inside the Top 10 at the time of the game, the Tigers were still ranked No. 2 behind only Ohio State.

Let’s see how the Tigers ran away with this victory and some of the bigger takeaways following the 2019 SEC Championship Game.
