Florida football finished its season 11-2 with a second-place finish in the SEC East and an Orange Bowl victory. Here are some studs and duds from 2019.

The Florida Gators had an amazing season in year two under head coach Dan Mullen, winning 11 games and defeating the Virginia Cavaliers in the Orange Bowl.

This season included going 3-1 in rivalry games. The Gators won the battle for Florida — there should be a trophy — defeating the Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles. They also handily defeated the Tennessee Volunteers, but fell short against Georgia in “The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.”

Despite a 10-win campaign last season, there were a lot of unknowns coming into this season for Mullen and the Gators. The biggest question mark was at quarterback. The success of this season was squarely on the shoulders of redshirt junior quarterback Feleipe Franks — or so we thought. Franks went down with a gruesome ankle injury against Kentucky and was lost for the rest of the season.

Junior quarterback Kyle Trask took the reins of the offense and he responded with a great season.

Many players contributed to this banner season for the Gators and some that didn’t have the season they anticipated. Here are some studs and duds from the Gators’ 2019 season.
