Arguably the fastest-rising prospect in the 2020 class, Ennis Rakestraw went from a lightly-recruited three-star cornerback to the nation’s most sought-after uncommitted recruit in just a month. He dominated in the Texas state playoffs and that’s what earned him national recognition and early offers.

A couple of months ago, no one could have predicted a kid with a handful of offers and little Power Five interest would be choosing from Alabama, Texas and Missouri on National Signing Day.

Many believe the Crimson Tide have a slight edge over Texas and Missouri because it seems to be a dream offer for most young football players, but the Tigers were in on him earlier than most.

Rakestraw knows how to lead winning defenses, too. He helped lead his high school to a 30-2 record over the past two seasons, finishing as state runner-up both years. He is a lockdown corner with a 6-foot-0, 170-pound frame and quick-twitch ability.

Though he’s listed as just the No. 896 overall prospect and 71st-best cornerback in the class, per 247Sports, Rakestraw could be a game-changer.
