Another prospect committed elsewhere, Malachi Wideman is not expected by many experts to end up with Florida State where he’s been verbally pledged since May.

Like Jayson Jones, Wideman has revealed a decision date of National Signing Day so that can’t make Seminole fans feel great about their chances with him. He has been trending away from Florida State for a while now and the Willie Taggart firing may have been the nail in the coffin but he never officially announced a decommitment.

Expect a flip on signing day and many believe it’s going to be Oregon who lands Wideman after recruiting him for a while and getting an official visit from him on Jan. 24.

Wideman is an incredible athlete who is a track and field star with long and high jump and that could make him a jump-ball specialist for the Ducks, especially with his 6-foot-4 frame.
