As someone who lives in Michigan, I can assure you that both Michigan and Michigan State fans are not happy that their programs let Justin Rogers go to Kentucky.

Rogers was flirting with a five-star rating throughout his entire recruitment and ended up as the No. 51 player in the class as well as the seventh-best defensive tackle and the top player from the state of Michigan, per 247Sports. He gave Michigan State one final chance before he ultimately decided to sign with Kentucky, giving Wildcat fans a slight scare.

Steve Clinkscale did a great job in his recruitment and there’s a reason he’s one of the best recruiters in the Midwest.

Back to Rogers, though. He stands 6-foot-2.5 and weighs in at 311 pounds and just looks the part of an elite defensive tackle. Kentucky’s top-rated player in the 2020 class will get an opportunity to help replace Calvin Taylor Jr. next season.

Rogers should see the field immediately despite not being an early enrollee and I wouldn’t be all that surprised if he was a starter by the end of the season.
