From offense, we move over to the defensive side of the ball where Korie Black could have an immediate impact at cornerback.
The three-star from Waco is the second-highest ranked non-early enrollee and he spurned the hometown Baylor Bears to sign with Oklahoma State. This was a big recruiting win for Mike Gundy not just because Black looked like he was going to be a Baylor lock, but also because he’s one of the more talented cornerbacks new to the Big 12 next season.
Black stands 6-foot-0.5 and 165 pounds which shows that he’s extremely lanky and needs to add some weight, but if he puts on about 15-20 pounds, he’ll have excellent size for the position.
That shouldn’t be too much of a problem when he gets to campus over the summer.
Oklahoma State also needs to do some revamping to that secondary that was third-worst in the Big 12 a season ago and it’s losing A.J. Green. Adding Black to the mix could prove beneficial because he brings new blood and a ton of talent.
Black is ranked the No. 558 overall recruit and 39th-best cornerback in the nation for 2020 and should see the field early on for the Cowboys.
