Florida Football: Top 3 early recruiting targets in 2021 class
Florida football has some big fish on its 2021 recruiting board and Dan Mullen could reel in one of the top classes in the SEC.
Dan Mullen has done a fantastic job with the Florida Gators in just a couple of seasons. Since coming over from Mississippi State, he has led Florida to some SEC East-contending seasons, developed solid talent and is recruiting at a high level.
The 2021 class should be no different for the head coach as he currently has 13 prospect committed and has the Gators ranked No. 2 in the country. This class should be his best yet and it’s not even close to being finished.
Who tops Florida’s recruiting board for 2021?
One of the first names that comes up when talking about Florida’s 2021 recruiting class is Jason Marshall. The Miami, Fla., native looks to be a kid who stays in state and that could be huge for the Gators, but Miami and Florida State are also pushing. Heck, LSU is one of the teams high on his list as well.
The Gators have a relatively young core at the cornerback position with guys like Kaiir Elam, Jaydon Hill, Trey Dean III and Chester Kimbrough, but Marshall is the kind of talent that could come in and break into that two-deep immediately.
Marshall is ranked the No. 32 overall prospect in the class and he’s also the third-best cornerback and fifth-best Florida recruit, according to the composite.
What makes the five-star corner special outside of his athleticism and speed is his size at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds. This kid will be able to guard just about anyone at the next level.
