Arkansas Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2020

There’s a new face in Starkville and Mike Leach is ready to fix the problems that arose under Joe Moorhead’s reign. He landed former highly-touted four-star quarterback and Stanford transfer KJ Costello this offseason and you can bet he’s ready to turn him into a leading passer in the SEC and one of college football’s best, stats-wise.

Arkansas’ defense will struggle here just because of Costello’s rise and Leach’s potent offense that won’t take long to develop. Kylin Hill also returns in the backfield and he’s going to be a major part of the offense both in the run and pass games. This will be a rather high-scoring affair.

Final Score: Arkansas 27, Mississippi State 38 (1-2, 0-1 SEC)

The annual rivalry game played at Jerry’s World (AT&T Stadium) in Arlington, Texas, won’t quite be as close as it has been in years past. These two teams have had some incredible battles, but Texas A&M is going to be just slightly too loaded on offense for the Razorbacks’ defense to handle.

Jimbo Fisher has been recruiting with the big boys in college football and he’s building a solid roster and a strong defense led by Mike Elko which will lead to one of those contending seasons in 2019. Arkansas will hang with the Aggies early on, but Kellen Mond will catch fire in the second half and score a four touchdowns of his own in the final 30 minutes.

Final Score: Arkansas 20, Texas A&M 45 (1-3, 0-2)
