Nevada finished 7-6 a year ago and caught a lot of headlines for being the new home to Last Chance U’s Malik Henry, but he has since left the program and it looks like the Wolf Pack will move forward with Carson Strong under center. They also return their leading rusher and top two receivers, but the defense should get the Wolf Pack in trouble.

Arkansas will start the season on a high note, scoring early and often on Nevada as Feleipe Franks gets the nod and passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns. Rakeem Boyd will add 100 yards and we may even see Malik Hornsby at the end.

Final Score: Nevada 17, Arkansas 38 (1-0)

Notre Dame won’t be an easy game for Arkansas, especially in a rebuilding year while the Irish have College Football Playoff aspirations. Ian Book is back but he’s losing a number of his offensive targets, including Chase Claypool, Cole Kmet and Chris Finke. The offense may be rebuilding a bit, but Book will be a calming presence.

Arkansas’ defense will have a tough time in this one, as will the offense as Notre Dame has gotten better over the past couple of seasons under Clark Lea. The Irish are hungry to prove they belong in the playoff conversation, so this may be a long day for the Razorbacks.

Final Score: Arkansas 13, Notre Dame 37 (1-1)
