From one Brenden to a Brendon, this quarterback from Texas could develop a strong relationship with the aforementioned Rice.

Brendon Lewis was one of the top-20 dual-threat quarterbacks in the country in the 2020 class, ranking as the No. 425 overall prospect and No. 57 Texas-based recruit, according to 247Sports. His rankings don’t exactly stick out, but with Steven Montez gone and being enrolled early, Lewis has a chance to be a special player right away.

Lewis is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound quarterback from Melissa, Texas, who runs a speedy 4.78 40-yard dash and has a 36-inch vertical. He’s a pure athlete.

While Montez had dual-threat capabilities, he never truly utilized them while Lewis most likely would. He’s one of those intriguing prospect that should give Colorado a glimpse into the future and it wouldn’t shock me if he earned the starting job early and and held it for 3-4 years.

The Buffaloes may soon have a Brendon to Brenden connection and it could become one of the best in the Pac-12 before it’s all said and done.
