The long-anticipated season opener will take place on Sept. 5 for LSU and it’ll bring UTSA to town. The Roadrunners won’t cause many problems for the Tigers as it’ll feel like this team picked up right where it left off in 2019.

This is a game that I could see John Emery Jr. and Chris Curry combining to have a big game on the ground, leading the Tigers to a blowout win.

Final Score: UTSA 3, LSU 49 (1-0)

Everyone knew LSU was for real in 2019 when it went on the road to take down a ranked Texas team led by Sam Ehlinger. The game was high-scoring and the Tigers pulled off a 45-38 win, putting the nation on notice.

This time around, the Longhorns may have more returning starters and a more experienced quarterback which makes this one interesting, but I just can’t see Texas going into Baton Rouge and stealing a win here.

Myles Brennan will have his first true signature win as LSU quarterback.

Final Score: Texas 23, LSU 31 (2-0)
