Penn State Football: Way-too-early 2020 game-by-game predictions
After getting back on track with a win over Indiana which followed a tough home loss to Ohio State, Penn State will look to finish the season strong with a relatively favorable schedule remaining in the final month of play.
That kicks off with a road game at Nebraska. The Cornhuskers could catch the Nittany Lions off guard here with Adrian Martinez getting his groove back by the end of the season after a disappointing 2019 campaign. However, he’ll struggle in this one against a good Penn State defense but do just enough to keep the Cornhuskers in the game.
A late pick by Martinez effectively ends the comeback effort at home.
Final Score: Penn State 30, Nebraska 21 (8-1, 5-1)
Michigan State has been known to give Penn State some trouble and the Spartans have actually beaten the Nittany Lions in two of the past three seasons, including a classic in 2018 when Felton Davis III caught the game-winning touchdown pass with under 30 seconds to play.
Gone is Davis III who was a thorn in Penn State’s side as well as Brian Lewerke who had some good games against the Nittany Lions. Also gone is Mark Dantonio.
Michigan State will be in a transition and rebuilding period here, so don’t expect any funny business from the Spartans in terms of an upset alert.
Final Score: Michigan State 14, Penn State 34 (9-1, 6-1)
