In what might be one of the more surprising moves in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Packers made a trade with the Miami Dolphins for Jordan Love.

The Dolphins would have had their third pick of the first round with the 26th pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, but they traded the pick to the Green Bay Packers.

In their first pick of the first round, the Packers shocked everyone and drafted quarterback Jordan Love from Utah State. He became the fourth quarterback chosen in the first round of the draft, and perhaps will be one of the biggest surprises to come out of the first round.

Most weren’t sure if Love would go in the second or third round, but most certainly not the first with Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert drafting within the first six picks.

Love played in 13 games his junior year and posted 293 completions out of 473 attempts for 3402 yards, 20 touchdowns and 17 interceptions with a 129.1 rating. He then chose to declare for the draft and forego his senior year with the Aggies.

In his sophomore year, Jordan posted a perfect passer rating of 158.3, recording 3,567 yards, 32 touchdowns and just six interceptions.

The Packers came into the draft with the needs for a pass-catcher, offensive tackle and linebacker. They were most expected to draft a receiver to help Aaron Rodgers in the passing game, not another quarterback who would probably take his place in the future.

This pick came as a shock to most of the analysts as they just didn’t see Green Bay taking a quarterback in the first round. Are the Packers trying to send a message to Rodgers?

Of course, I didn’t have the Packers with the 26th pick in my mock draft but I did have KJ Hamler as their first pick with the 30th pick. I had projected Ross Blacklock the defensive tackle from TCU to go to Miami with the 26th pick.
