Texas A&M Football: Top 5 prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft
By Shelbie Warr
After a successful freshman year in 2017 in which Anthony Hines accumulated 33 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks and a forced fumble in 13 games and was named to the Freshman All-SEC Team, he came on the scene ready to go for 2018. However, an injury in game one knocked him out for the rest of the season and caused him to redshirt.
In 2019, he started all 13 games and was second on the team in total tackles with 73, including 10.5 for loss.
Now, he prepares for the 2020 season as a redshirt junior. Those numbers from 2019 jump off the page at me for Hines and show me that he’s ready to be even better in 2020. He’s definitely an under-the-radar type player that many people don’t pay much attention to especially in comparison to some of his teammates in Aggieland, but that could change in a big way in 2020.
If a junior was to leave early for the draft, though with this being his fourth year in Aggieland it really isn’t that “early” so to speak, it would definitely be the Plano product.
