After the 2020 season, senior quarterback Kellen Mond will have reached the end of his time in Aggieland and will be preparing for the NFL draft.

More from Texas A&M Aggies

Will he be prepared to make the jump and be an NFL starter? I’m not so sure on that front, but being the most experienced quarterback in the SEC and playing a much easier schedule in comparison to a year ago will help bridge the gap.

Mond’s biggest struggle is consistency. It’s not that he disappears in big games, because if you look back to Clemson and LSU in 2018, he really showed up and was ready for battle. However, against teams like Arkansas, it is almost as if he has forgotten the basics of being a successful quarterback.

To say Mond has some growing to do would be an understatement, but he has the time and the coaching staff to become a force to be reckoned with in the SEC this season and to find his way onto draft boards come April.
