Pick Analysis. Clemson. 5. 32. player. Scouting Report. LB/S. Isaiah Simmons

It is hard to say that a player who was taken No. 8 overall was a draft day steal. Isaiah Simmons, however, was an absolute steal in this draft. You knew that the Dolphins and Chargers were going to take a quarterback. Even the Panthers choosing Derrick Brown is understandable as he was rated higher than Simmons on NFL.com.

The Giants taking Andrew Thomas was completely baffling. Not only was Thomas the third-rated offensive tackle in this draft, but he was also the 20th-rated player in the draft. The thought process is understandable.

Jedrick Wills Jr. from Alabama protected Tua Tagovailoa’s blindside who was a lefty. Mekhi Becton is not a guaranteed left tackle either. Tristan Wirfs might not even be a tackle in the NFL. So, logically it makes sense.

However, you just cannot leave a generational talent like Simmons on the table. His potential is through the roof. The Arizona Cardinals were very pleased to see him fall to No. 8 in the draft.

When was the last time you’ve seen a defensive player lead his team in tackles, sacks and interceptions? Well, when you draft a guy who says his position is defense, it just might happen.
