I expect big things from the TCU defense next year and Ar’Darius Washington is a big reason for that. Though he is a little undersized at 5-foot-8 and 175 pounds, but Washington has good ball skills and is perfect roaming in Gary Patterson’s hybrid defense.

Washington had a very good 2019 in his redshirt freshman season and even bigger things are expected for him and this TCU team as they look to bounce back from a 5-7 season a year ago.

The redshirt sophomore safety finished last year with 46 tackles and five interceptions and that was just his first season as a starter after not playing much in 2018. Washington is a very key piece for the TCU defense, especially in the pass happy Big 12.

Defenders that can move around at safety are at a premium and TCU is lucky enough to have a couple of those guys in the secondary. The crazy thing is, Washington is not even the best defensive back on his team and that leads to the top ranked prospect on TCU.
