This college football season will be interesting because of the circumstances during the offseason. Here are five burning questions coming into 2020.

The COVID-19 crisis brought college football and the entire sports world to a screeching halt. There is no spring football, no in-person recruiting, and no spring workouts. Eventually, college football will return.

There is no timetable for college football’s return, but it seems like the season will begin on time. Universities around the country plan to have students this fall. With campuses opening football facilities are not that far behind.

Coaches are chomping at the bit to get back on campus and get a sense of normalcy. They are ready to install game plans and watch game film. For new coaches, they have waited months to get acclimated to their new surroundings.

Players can get back to their routine of class and practice. New players — freshmen and transfers alike — can get to know their teammates and begin learning the system of their new program. For freshmen, they get to see how difficult the next level is. Transfers learn a new playbook.

When football does resume, many teams have important questions they have to answer. For example, is LSU all-in on Myles Brennan? Is JT Daniels going to leave USC? Who plays quarterback at Alabama?

Of the many questions and storylines to follow this upcoming season, these are five important questions that need answers this season.
