College Football: Ranking the 10 worst Power Five teams since 2010
Record: 1-11, 0-9 Pac-12
The 2017 Oregon State Beavers nearly did not win a game but also were a few breaks away from winning four games. After an embarrassing 58-27 loss to Colorado State to open the season, the Beavers nearly fell to FCS foe Portland State in a 35-22 contest in Corvallis.
There would be no more winning the rest of the way as the team dropped their final non-conference game 48-14 to Minnesota. In Pac-12 play, the Beavers had some close calls as they lost by just three to Colorado, 15-14 to then-ranked No. 20 Stanford and by two touchdowns to California.
Despite some close games, the Beavers suffered their fair share of blowouts, such as a 69-10 loss to Oregon in their Civil War rivalry game, a 42-7 loss to Washington and a 52-23 loss to Washington State.
Senior quarterback Darell Garretson started six games for the Beavers and threw eight interceptions with just six touchdowns and 52 rushing yards. The team handed the keys to Idaho transfer Jake Luton after benching the senior, but he did not manage much better throwing an even four picks and four interceptions.
While not the worst overall Power Five team of the decade, the 2017 Beavers take the spot as worst Pac-12 team of the decade.
