You could make the case for Rutgers being the No. 11 team on this list, but the Scarlet Knights are now led by Greg Schiano and that should make them just slightly tougher than MAC foes.

Even though there’s a familiar face at head coach who has had plenty of success in Piscataway, the Scarlet Knights have won just three total games over the last two seasons and nine total in the past four years. This is going to be a total rebuild for Schiano and year one will probably yield two or three wins.

Don’t expect this to be one of them.

Maryland is a couple of steps ahead of Rutgers right now and the Terrapins are slowly gaining momentum in the recruiting landscape under second-year head coach Mike Locksley. He’s recruiting at a high level and that’s bad news for the rest of the Big Ten.

Like Rutgers, however, he took over at Maryland with a total rebuild in mind and we’re just seeing year two of that. The Terps finished 3-9 in 2019 and will probably hover around 4-5 wins in 2020.
