Projected to finish just ahead of Vanderbilt in the SEC East, Missouri will be under the direction of first-year head coach Eli Drinkwitz in 2020 and in a massive rebuild. The former App State head coach was 12-1 in his only season as a head coach. Did he get an SEC job offer too quickly? Possibly, but he should turn Missouri around eventually.

Shawn Robinson will be an interesting quarterback to watch as he started eight games in two seasons with Gary Patterson and TCU. He could be a surprise star for the Tigers.

Another SEC East bottom-dweller, South Carolina is facing a critical 2020 season. Like Derek Mason, Will Muschamp is in need of a big season in order to keep his job, but don’t expect the Gamecocks to pull off this mammoth upset in Gainesville. No Georgia-like upset this season for the Gamecocks.

South Carolina won nine games in 2017 and then dropped to seven wins in 2018 and then only four in 2019. It’s been a downhill trend for years and Muschamp’s seat is piping hot.

Ryan Hilinksi should be starting to begin the season after suffering an injury during a promising freshman year. He could wind up being one of the SEC’s brightest young stars.
