The Lane Train has arrived at the Oxford station and Lane Kiffin is gearing up for a turnaround of epic proportions, but that won’t happen in 2020.

There’s no doubt that Ole Miss will be much more fun to watch and follow under Kiffin, but it’s going to take a couple of years before the Rebels are contending for division titles. He’ll recruit at a high level, but he’s taking over a program with Matt Luke’s recruits.

Matt Corral and John Rhys Plumlee are still fighting for the QB1 spot and the offense could be exciting no matter who starts under center with former blue-chipper Jerrion Ealy in the backfield, but the defense will be a mess.

Florida State isn’t too far removed from being an ACC powerhouse, but shuffling through a couple head coaches in less than two years following Jimbo Fisher’s departure for Texas A&M has dampened the spirits in Tallahassee.

This program could still do big things and the recruiting pipelines will always be there, but is everything going to change right away under Mike Norvell? Probably not.

The Seminoles make the top five because it’s a rivalry game on the road, but honestly it would be an absolute shock if they took down Florida.
