Mark Stoops has already won big-time this offseason, holding on to some of his assistant coaches and top recruiters who were top priorities for Michigan State’s new head coach Mel Tucker.

Kentucky is serious about continuing its winning ways on the gridiron and the Wildcats can no longer be considered just a basketball school because, well, they go bowling just about every year. The Wildcats are 18-8 over the past two seasons and just took down Virginia Tech in the Belk Bowl to end the 2019 campaign.

Terry Wilson is back at quarterback, but if Joey Gatewood gets a waiver, he could challenge for that starting job. This team could win at least eight games again and this matchup, normally dominated by Florida, has been close in recent years.

Tennessee is getting as much hype this offseason as anyone in the SEC not named Alabama or Florida as the Volunteers are coming off an 8-5 season, winning seven of their final eight games after a 1-4 start. Jeremy Pruitt seems to have turned a corner and if he can figure out that quarterback position, he’ll be good to go.

Jarrett Guarantano returns but Brian Maurer is nipping at his heels and Harrison Bailey is an intriguing incoming four-star quarterback recruit who could push for that job as well.

Don’t look now, but this game has upset alert written all over it, especially taking place in Knoxville. This is huge for the SEC East race.
