Florida Football: 3 keys for successful 2020 season
Florida football is close to their goal under third-year head coach Dan Mullen. There are three factors for the Gators to accomplish this 2020 season.
The Florida Gators have been in the hunt for the SEC title for the first time in more than a decade but seem to always come up short. The Gators have not won the SEC since 2008 when head coach Urban Meyer and quarterback Tim Tebow propelled them to win the 2009 BCS National Championship. They are close to their goal with this season looking like the best shots they’ve had in years.
A successful season for the Gators would be fighting near the end for the SEC East title or winning the division for a chance to play in the SEC championship.
This season, the Gators are projected to finish the season No. 1 the SEC East in many media outlets including Athlon Sports. The last time the Gators won the SEC East was in the 2016 season under second-year head coach Jim McElwain.
Like most high-caliber teams in the SEC, the Gators have lost many starters to the NFL. They do have great talent returning at key positions that will help propel to the top of the SEC in the preseason. These strengths will be highly essential for the Gators in their third season with Dan Mullen as their head coach.
Last season, the Gators have finished with an 11-2 record including 6-2 in SEC play. Mullen has accumulated a 21-5 record in his first two seasons at Florida. The only thing the Gators need now under Mullen is the SEC East title and a potential SEC championship.
