Texas Football: Ranking Longhorns’ 2020 opponents by toughness
Another Big 12 program under the direction of a second-year head coach, West Virginia is led by Neal Brown who came over from Troy in 2019.
The Mountaineers found their quarterback in Jarret Doege and have Sam James returning as the leading receiver but the strength in 2020 will almost undoubtedly be the defense. West Virginia ranked 119th in total offense a year ago and 74th in defense.
West Virginia was 5-7 last season and should be bowl-bound in 2020.
It’s almost like it never stops. Kansas State, just like the aforementioned Mountaineers, Red Raiders and Jayhawks, is also under the direction of a coach in his second year as Chris Klieman came over from FCS powerhouse North Dakota State to lead the Wildcats to an 8-5 record in 2019.
No one expected eight wins out of Klieman in year one, but he got solid production from Skylar Thompson who returns at quarterback in 2020.
Playing Kansas State in Manhattan is never easy.
