4. Jeff Brohm, Purdue

I’m not thrilled about putting Jeff Brohm on this list because he hasn’t really done a bad job at Purdue. He definitely hasn’t done well, but Purdue hasn’t won 10 games since 1979, so he’s about on par with the standard for a Boilermaker head coach.

That being said, if this was a ranking list for most overpaid coach, he would be standing alone at the top.

The question here is in regards to why he’s getting paid over $5 million per year to coach a team that, historically, isn’t good. Last year, he made more than every coach in the Big Ten that isn’t named Jim Harbaugh and went 4-8. I don’t think he’s a bad coach, but he is the textbook definition of overpaid.

Despite the fact that he started strong and somehow destroyed an undefeated Ohio State by 29 points in his second year, I don’t see him ever living up to his current contract.
