Incarnate Word reigns from the Southland Conference and the Cardinals had a forgettable 2019 season, going 5-7. They started the season 5-2 and looked to be headed toward a memorable year, but finished with five straight losses.

The Cardinals faced two mediocre FBS foes last season in UTSA and New Mexico and lost to both by double-digits. This game shouldn’t be close.

No disrespect to Les Miles, but Kansas is still the laughingstock of the Big 12. The tides might be slowing turning in Lawrence, but the Jayhawks finished 3-9 with one win in conference play a year ago but the fact that they’re starting a new quarterback and have only three returning defensive starters might be a big concerning.

That defense may actually get better with the turnover as the Jayhawks ranked No. 122 in the country a year ago.

Pooka Williams will be one of the best running backs in the conference this year and Kansas returns its top two receivers from last season, so there’s a good chance the Jayhawks will improve, but not by much.
