4. Rakeem Boyd, RB, Season 3 (Indy CC)

Independence head coach Jason Brown was a master recruiter, with one-time Texas A&M commit Rakeem Boyd being one of his top prospects. And although it took a few games into the season to witness the talent, Boyd couldn’t help but show it off once he got rolling.

SEC football:  Each schools top Heisman candidate

He amassed 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Pirates in his lone season at Indy C.C., and that was plenty good enough to get him back on some school’s radars. Arkansas and Colorado made offers, and Boyd chose the Razorbacks landing him back in the SEC.

Since he didn’t play at A&M, his year at Indy C.C. was his freshman season. During his sophomore campaign in 2018 at Arkansas, Boyd rushed for 734 yards and two scores before getting a bigger role in 2019. He finished sixth in the conference with 1,133 rushing yards and added eight more touchdowns to his budding resume.

With the 2020 season on the horizon, what’s in store for Boyd as a senior? Could he run himself into the first or second round of the 2021 NFL Draft with another solid year of production?
