2. Kyle Trask and Kyle Pitts

The play of Kyle Trask will largely determine how far this Gators team is able to go.

The roster is talented enough where if Trask struggles and doesn’t develop they can still finish towards the top of the SEC East. If he is able to take a step forward, there’s no reason Florida can’t steal the division crown from Georgia and play in the title game.

The only two games the Gators lost last year were against Georgia, who had one of if not the best defenses in the country, and LSU. Trask had one of the better performances of all the quarterbacks the Bulldogs faced, throwing for 257 yards and two touchdowns.

Looking at Trask’s weapons, tight end Kyle Pitts will be a large part of Florida’s offensive game-plan. As a sophomore, Pitts caught 54 balls for 649 yards and five touchdowns. Even in this shortened season, he can easily outperform those numbers. He’s a matchup nightmare standing at 6-foot-6 and 239 pounds and can line up in multiple spots.

Pitts is arguably the best tight end in the country and would’ve been competing for first team All-American honors. He’s a real game changer and someone Trask will likely target a lot this season. Trask and Pitts could end up being one of the top quarterback-receiver duos in the country, and will need to if the Gators are to win the SEC.
