Louisiana football is one of the best Group of Five teams in the country. Can the Ragin’ Cajuns win their first Sun Belt title under Billy Napier?

Billy Napier has built the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns into one of the best programs amongst the Group of Five. The one hurdle Napier and the Cajuns have yet to leap are the Appalachian State Mountaineers.

The Mountaineers and the Cajuns play in the regular season this year. The conference hangs in the balance of those games.

Napier has built one of the best offenses in the Group of Five since he’s been the head coach. They were six points better in year two than they were in year one. The most significant leap for the Cajuns was the defense.

They were twelve points better in year two than they were in year one. Both units look to be solid once again. Though the Cajuns rank 55th in returning production, they bring back production in key places both offensively and defensively.

They and the Mountaineers have separated themselves from the rest of the teams in the Sun Belt. They played two close games last season, and Louisiana fell short.

Can the Cajuns beat the Mountaineers and claim the Sun Belt?
