2. Marvin Mims is going to be truly special

We go from somewhat of a disappointment on the offensive side of the ball in the run game to one of the pleasant surprises here. Marvin Mims is a stud.

Like Seth McGowan in the run game, Mims has been thrust into action as a freshman after being a top-200 recruit in the 2020 class. He looks like one of the best young receivers in college football and he opened some eyes on Saturday night, giving fans flashbacks of Marquise “Hollywood” Brown.

There were some epic overreactions on Twitter to his first-ever collegiate performance, but it almost seemed warranted given the fact that Oklahoma has a plethora of solid targets and he stood out as arguably the best offensive weapon against Missouri State.

Mims finished with three catches for 80 yards and a touchdown, but he had a hand in the return game as well with three punt returns for 38 yards, including a 34-yarder.

This kid is going to be special in Norman.
