ACC football power rankings, Week 3: Clemson looks dominant yet again

14. Florida State Seminoles (0-1)
There are many levels to the Florida State narrative. Many people around the program did not appreciate the mess Jimbo Fisher left when he took his talents to College Station. At the same time, many did not appreciate how little the university desired to invest in the program while Fisher was there. That was the primary reason he decided to leave.
That lack of appreciation led to having a quick trigger on Willie Taggart. It’s understandable why they let Taggart go so soon; you don’t want the apathy around the program you had. Fans were not showing up for games, and there was no buzz around the program. However, there were flashes of improvement before he was let go.
The Seminoles pegged Mike Norvell from Memphis, and the pandemic was the worst thing that could have happened. He and the Seminoles needed spring and summer ball as much as any team in the country.
What happened against Georgia Tech was terrible, but we should have known that it would take time, especially on offense. The offensive line is awful, and James Blackman is marginal at best at quarterback. The defense is pretty good, but Norvell has miles to go before the Seminoles are contenders.
